Hello fellow adventurers,
You heard it here first, folks... Alex and I are getting married!! And we JUST set a date for late fall, 2022!
We haven't done an official announcement yet because we haven't had the chance to take proper engagement photos, but I didn't want to keep it a secret any longer!! That's why I wanted to let you in on the news, and share some of the wonderful planning we've done for the big day!
And for those of you wondering about our proposal, it's a pretty cute story...

The proposal
As it turned out, the initial "proposal" ended up being more of a moment of realization than anything else. Many months ago, we were just lounging around the house chatting when we stumbled into the idea of getting married one day... It just seemed so obvious to us!
But we're still a couple of romantics, so I was determined to give us a "real" proposal. I ordered these beautiful custom silver rings, stamped with our bindrune (M+A) from The Wicked Griffin. I already have a few pieces from Jackie and they are all absolutely stunning. These rings were no exception!
After getting the rings, I booked us an ADORABLE Airbnb called the "Tree Cabin". It was the middle of February, so we spent the weekend sipping wine in the outdoor Cedar hot tub surrounded by falling snow. I "officially" popped the question during one of those moments, and it was as magical as I imagined it! Of course, being a planner of the highest degree, I started dreaming up the perfect wedding plans not long after.
The dress
As you can imagine, we're not the kind of people to stick to tradition. I had so much fun designing our outfits, and reimagining the traditional wedding attire. I knew that my dress was going to be dark greens and rusty browns, layered with a leafy leather bodice... So of course, we couldn't have Alex wear a generic tux! We finally nailed down a design for his outfit - a long sleeved linen tunic with a ceremonial cloak, featuring a carved leather front closure that mirrors my bodice.
What do you think? Would you wear this to your wedding?

The location
Last Thursday, we officially started the booking process to host our wedding at the enchanting Spillian, a glorious 19th century mansion in the Catskills. I've stayed their a few times for different events and retreats, and it's honestly the closest to magic I've ever felt. Leigh, the fae-touched woman who runs it, builds ritual and intention into every element of the experience. I'm so excited to return to this special place, and to manifest our dreams there in the midst of autumn colors.

I hope you enjoyed this little post! I know it was in a different vein than most of my Inner Circle posts, but I had a lot of fun bringing you into our exciting plans. Honestly, it's pretty much all I can think about at the moment! If you want to hear more about our wedding plans as the date gets closer, be sure to let me know!
And as always, feel free to suggest a topic for next week's post in the comments below!
Many Blessings,
Marin
